The first circle
The IGC cable is provided with THEMI. It is used for data transfer between the THEMI electronic unit and a PC and has a RJ45 connector on one end and a DB9 female connector on the other end. The cable is 1 meter ( 3' ) long. Power supply can be established through the IGC cable's single leads: red = +12volt DC, black= -12volt DC. This allows data transfer even if THEMI is disconnected from the wiring harness.

The serial interface connector
THEMI's wiring harness has a DB9-RS232 male gender data connector. This Sub-D 9-pin male connector fits directly to a standard serial cable of Pocket PCs. Data from THEMI are in NMEA 0183 format $GPGGA and $GPRMC every second.

Therefore THEMI can serve as a GPS unit for other instruments

such as iPAQ and others which can run navigation software (i.e. "WinPilot" or "Anywhere Map" and others).
They just have to be plugged in.

It is an active antenna. A coaxial cable transfers the signals to THEMI and serves at the same time as a power supply for the antenna. Standard cable length is 1 m. The antenna is connected with the wiring harness through a SMA connector according to MIL-C-39012 and CECC 22110/111.

The base of the antenna carries a metric bolt M4 with a length of 10mm for mounting. THEMI's GPS antenna needs to be installed so that it has a clear view of the sky.
